Flowers in the Fall

Blooming in late summer, until the very first frost, dahlia's are simply beautiful. While no real aroma is apparent, the coloring and texture are stunning.
This one is called Rebecca Lynn - a hybrid created in 1987. We have much in common, this little pink flower & I.

What a precious bumble bee, doing his job on a sunny afternoon.

Things are looking UP

I begin my freelance position on Tuesday at Boston Apparel Group in Global Sourcing. Finally back to work!!! Though temporary, it is exciting to have a job again.

Also - my foot is just about healed! But of course I wore the walking boot into Boston on Thursday night for the fashion show interview. We'll see what both Fashion Group and the Orthopedic have to say about ME this week...

I hope to finish sewing "the gift" tomorrow :) :) :) It should be completed by Saturday. I cannot wait. Pictures this week!

Jillian's Benefit is this coming Saturday. It should be another wonderful success and I cannot wait to see her parents.

Well, I am currently researching eco-friendly fashion companies, but I should probably get to bed. Busy week ahead of me! Here's my favorite so far...

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes...

Like Cinderella - no freedom, no money, and unsure of what the future holds - I find myself finally having the time to dream. I have no job, I can't move around much, I have no money to go out with... So I am stuck in my room reading a book. Hours later, as I turn off the light to go to sleep, I have an urge to remain awake. I am tossing and turning at the thought of no job and watching my unused talent go to waste after 4 years of developing it. Sure - I don't want to sew for a career the rest of my life, but maybe I can do something simple, beautiful and colorful.
My right foot is the non-broken foot, so I can still operate a sewing machine. And since no one will hire me, maybe I should take it into my own hands. Though I have no money, maybe I can convince my mother to help me purchase the few items I need to produce my vision.

Stay tuned...

Dreamy,
Becky

Things Could be Better

Oh my gosh...
So I broke the side of my foot last week (my 5th metatarsal to be exact), I still cannot find a job and... NOW who will hire me? Trying to keep positive...
Fortunately,
I am living at home with my parents until I get my feet on the ground - literally.
Surprisingly, no money + no job + no walking = restful times. Turns out Family, Love, Books, Surfing the Web, Disney Movies and Chocolate Ice-cream are all I need to be happy... for now :)

Normally the sunshine keeps me smiling, but it's been rainy and will continue to be gloomy for the rest of the week. How appropriate. Looks like a good time to just rest and heal my broken foot while reading and watching movies!

Keep on the Sunny Side of Life,
Becky :)
